Frazer Frost, LLP is seeking an experienced individual to lead the firm's Quality Control (QC) department. The QC department serves as the firms principle resource in all matters affecting the conduct of the accounting and auditing practice. Principle objectives of the department are:
To establish standards of proficiency and skill in the areas of accounting and auditing
To assume responsibility for continued maintenance of and compliance with such standards
To provide reasonable assurance that professional practices and procedures comply with the professions established quality control standards
Responsibilities:
Administration of the firms inspection program
Pre-issuance and concurring reviews on attest work product, individual office reviews and ongoing communication with key personnel
Consultation on matters affecting accounting and auditing - such matters may include accounting, auditing, and reporting and engagement structuring issues
Development of firm policies and procedures on technical matters
Monitoring technical developments affecting the Firms accounting and auditing practice and disseminating appropriate information to our professional personnel
Providing technical assistance in matters such as development of curriculum and assuring accuracy of training materials
Providing technical support for the Firm - Representative on significant professional committees and task forces.
Monitoring developments within the PCAOB, SEC, AICPA and Cal Society and recommending appropriate firm action where necessary.
Coordinate PCAOB and AICPA peer reviews
Implementing, coordinating, and monitoring continuing education programs for audit and accounting staff
Develop and implement standardized audit and accounting engagement documentation (including coordinating audit and accounting software requirements, standardized working papers and files, etc.)
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 10 years of recent public accounting experience with a National or large Regional CPA firm and have worked in or served in the main capacity as a QC director.
Active CPA license required
Position requires extensive experience in auditing and a thorough understanding of business and accounting practices.
Must have working knowledge of financial reporting and auditing companies that report to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Qualified individual needs to possess the ability to manage a department, be highly organized, schedule, supervise and coordinate major initiatives in the firm like required file inspections, monitor file lockdowns, firm and department training and other functions related to this department.
The successful candidate must have great communication and management skills.
Agribusiness Staff Accountant Los Angeles, CA
Frazer Frost, LLP is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, energetic team player with a positive attitude to join our firms Agribusiness Department in our Los Angeles office. The Firms Agribusiness Department specializes in providing complete accounting, tax, and consulting services to the agricultural industry, and more specifically, the dairy industry.
Qualified candidates must have the following:
A bachelors degree in accounting.
Eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
A desire to pursue applicable professional development and certification(s).
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks.

Frazer Frost, LLP is currently seeking to hire two Staff Auditors in our Asian Services Department at our Los Angeles, California office. There will be approximately 35% international travel to China.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Speaks fluent Mandarin and is able to read and write Simplified Chinese.
1+ year of experience working in a public accounting firm performing audit engagements is required
CPA license or a desire to actively pursuing CPA certification

Semi-seniors and staff accountants are responsible for performing specifically assigned tasks in accordance with directions furnished to them by the engagement senior, manager or partner, as specified in the work program or pertinent firm policies and procedures. They are responsible for keeping their supervisors informed as to the status of their work and any problems encountered. They should be aware of budgets and be concerned with personal productivity. Also, like any other profession, they are responsible for their professional and technical skills development.
When assigned as in-charge of an engagement, the semi-senior is responsible for the orderly completion of engagement including making the initial determination as to whether or not the engagement objectives have been met, ensuring the efficient wrap-up of the engagement, keeping the manager and partner informed of progress and unusual developments. The semi-senior must monitor the time spent on the engagement and, where required, propose to the manager any necessary modifications to the engagement work plan.
A Semi-Senior's responsibilities include the following:
To have direct client contact and resolve questions from clients on a timely fashion.
Perform duties as the in-charge of audit, review, and compilation engagements.
Demonstrate leadership skills by supervising staff.
To recognize areas where the departments procedures or policies may be improved.
To be available to train staff on procedures, policies, and software.
To have a working knowledge of accounting/audit research programs.
To recognize and work toward the resolution of more complex accounting and audit issues.
